Since Ridley deactivated her account, there has been speculation that her post about gun violence -- and the negative attention it received from some -- may have prompted her to leave the social network.

Ridley's official Facebook page is still live, but the same post about gun violence (which she also shared on Facebook, according to BBC Newsbeat) has now disappeared.
Here's Ridley's post in full, taken from one of the many screengrabs shared on social media.
"Thinking about how lucky I am like......... Serious bit: as I sat in the audience yesterday tears were streaming down my face at the tribute to those that have been lost to gun violence. I didn't get a great picture of the incredible group that came on stage but they were so brave. It was a true moment of togetherness. We must #stoptheviolence"

Ridley's post about gun violence came following her attendance of the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. During the ceremony, Jessica Alba took to the stage with a group of teenagers who had all been affected in some way by gun crime.
According to some Daisy Ridley fan accounts, the actress did reappear on Instagram briefly on Wednesday in order to share the following note.
