In the final stages of development for its PS5 Pro game console,Watch Believer Online Sony is working on a customized processor codenamed Viola, Chinese media outlet Icsmart reported on August 4. The new PlayStation may not adopt TSMC’s latest 3nm (N3) processor, opting instead for the cheaper N4P processor, which is reportedly less likely to face limited production capacity. The N4P processor is said to meet the demands of the PS5 Pro, and will not affect general user experience. The PS5 Pro is set for release in 2024, featuring an upgraded GPU and RAM that will make 8K console gaming possible, according to previous reports. [Icsmart, in Chinese]
