Despite having a sore throat006 Archives Meryl Streep's Golden Globes speech on Sunday sent a loud and clear political message.

"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if you kick us all out, you'll have nothing to watch except for football and mixed martial arts, which are not arts," the actress said while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Though Streep never mentioned Donald Trump by name, the speech itself was very political, which elicited a slew of mixed responses, obviously, from viewers online.

Many -- including fellow A-list actors -- commended the eight-time Golden Globe winner 30-time Golden Globe nominee for taking a stand.

Others were not as pleased, deeming the speech a disappointment.
